Automotive Mechanic (B Tech) - Budget Truck Rental
Overview
You will perform essential mechanical repairs and maintenance on a fleet of moving vans and box trucks, ensuring they are safe and reliable for customers. Joining the Avis Budget Group team, you will work with minimal supervision, handling oil changes, tire repairs, brake work, and more. This role offers on-the-job training and support for ASE certification growth, with potential to advance to senior technician. You will directly impact fleet uptime and customer satisfaction, making every repair count.
What You'll Do7
- 1Perform oil and fluid services, lubrication, tire repairs, brake and suspension work on moving vans and box trucks.
- 2Complete warranty-related repairs based on your experience level with ASE standards.
- 3Assist senior technicians with complex diagnostics and repair procedures to develop your skills.
- 4Drive Budget trucks on public roads for testing and repair verification, ensuring operational safety.
- 5Maintain a complete set of tools and keep your work area organized and safe.
- 6Use basic computer skills for typing and data entry to document repairs and service records.
- 7Continuously learn and obtain additional ASE certifications within your first year.
Requirements10
- 12+ years of professional auto repair experience.
- 2Valid Driver's License (Class A, B, or C) and ability to obtain DOT medical clearance.
- 3At least 1 ASE certification with ability to get 2 more within first year.
- 4Working knowledge of ASE areas: Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel.
- 5Complete set of automotive repair tools.
- 6Basic computer skills including typing and data entry.
- 7Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, reach, walk, sit, kneel frequently, and drive vehicles.
- 8At least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
- 9Comfortable in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels.
- 10Previous OEM experience preferred.
