OHSU seeks an Associate Vice President Labor Relations to advance labor strategy aligned with clinical academic and research missions. What You'll Do13
- 1Own enterprise labor relations strategy aligning with clinical academic and research missions
- 2Build oversight model decision rights and escalation pathways for multi-mission institution
- 3Serve as senior authority translating institutional direction into labor relations agenda
- 4Direct collective bargaining negotiations across nine bargaining units
- 5Partner with Finance and Compensation on proposal costing and negotiated outcomes
- 6Establish compliant interpretation of collective bargaining agreements across all mission areas
- 7Provide executive oversight of arbitration and grievance strategy
- 8Represent OHSU in arbitration mediation and build risk identification practices
- 9Act as go-to executive resource for senior leaders on labor matters
- 10Design recruitment and development frameworks for labor relations team
- 11Lead change management for labor agreements and workforce transitions
- 12Integrate labor strategy with broader HR initiatives such as total rewards and workforce planning
- 13Advance DEIB outcomes within labor relations function and execution
Requirements12
- 1Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Labor Relations Business Administration Law Public Administration or related field
- 2Master's degree MBA MHA MS in HR or JD strongly preferred
- 312–15+ years progressive labor relations experience including senior leadership
- 4Proven success leading collective bargaining across multiple unions simultaneously
- 5Track record of building or reshaping labor relations functions or teams
- 6Experience advising C-suite executives or governing boards on complex labor matters
- 7Experience in large unionized academic medical centers healthcare systems or comparable regulated environments
- 8Advanced knowledge of labor law collective bargaining statutes grievance arbitration processes
- 9Executive-level negotiation mediation and conflict resolution abilities
- 10Ability to translate labor strategy into workforce planning organizational design and total rewards decisions
- 11Strong executive presence communication skills influencing clinical academic research and administrative domains
- 12Data-driven approach to labor analytics risk assessment and DEIB integration
