Associate Immigration Attorney, Family & Humanitarian
Overview
You will manage a full caseload of family-based and humanitarian immigration matters at a mid-sized Philadelphia-area firm. From day one, you own client strategy, draft I-601A waivers, and appear before the Executive Office for Immigration Review. You join a collaborative team of attorneys and paralegals in Collingswood, NJ, with direct access to partners for mentorship. This role stands apart through its depth in appellate litigation and SIJ custody work, plus a clear path to business development.
What You'll Do7
- 1Prepare I-130 and I-360 petitions, plus I-485 adjustment applications, from intake through filing.
- 2Draft and file I-601A waivers and other benefit applications, ensuring evidence meets legal standards.
- 3Prepare U and T visa applications, VAWA self-petitions, SIJ applications, and affirmative asylum packages.
- 4Represent clients in removal proceedings before the EOIR, including trial preparation and witness examination.
- 5Write appellate briefs for the Board of Immigration Appeals and Petitions for Review to circuit courts.
- 6File Motions to Reopen, Motions to Continue, and Motions to Change Venue to advance client cases.
- 7Prepare and file custody applications for SIJ status in conjunction with family court proceedings.
Requirements6
- 11+ year handling all aspects of immigration court cases, from master calendar to merits hearings.
- 2Active attorney license in any US state bar association.
- 3Experience drafting I-601A waivers and family-based petitions.
- 4Proven ability to write persuasive legal briefs and motions.
- 5Knowledge of EOIR procedures and immigration court practice.
- 6Strong client communication skills in high-stakes situations.
