Associate Director Business Development Army
Overview
Lead and convert opportunities across the U.S. Army. Own end-to-end process from customer discovery through proposal submission and expansion. Partner with engineering and mission operations to develop credible paths toward funded opportunities.
What You'll Do11
- 1Build and manage an Army-focused pipeline from opportunity identification through proposal submission source selection and expansion
- 2Develop net-new relationships across operational units program offices requirements organizations acquisition communities contracting stakeholders and technical stakeholders
- 3Research customer structures decision-makers mission priorities budgets acquisition pathways incumbents and competitors
- 4Create stakeholder maps and engagement strategies identifying champions blockers decision-makers and funding owners
- 5Translate operational problems into opportunity strategies technical narratives requirements and measurable mission outcomes
- 6Scope pilots demonstrations exercises and user evaluations proving mission value and transitioning into larger programs
- 7Develop win strategies covering customer engagement competitive positioning teaming decision timelines and proposal execution
- 8Own assigned proposals coordinate cross-functional inputs and lead gate reviews bid/no-bid recommendations action tracking and submission readiness
- 9Communicate Distributed Spectrum capabilities to operational technical acquisition and executive audiences maintain clear account documentation and identify alternative paths
- 10Represent Distributed Spectrum during frequent travel and periodic work in secure or classified environments
- 11Analyze RF sensing edge processing AI/ML data integration and operational employment concepts
Requirements10
- 15+ years of relevant experience owning outcomes in military defense national security defense technology operational technical or commercial environments
- 2U.S. Army experience or demonstrated success working directly with Army customers in business development growth deployment strategy mission operations or program strategy
- 3Understanding of how Army formations identify mission needs establish requirements evaluate capabilities fund experimentation and transition technologies into sustained programs
- 4Ability to navigate unfamiliar organizations determine who matters understand how decisions are made identify where funding resides and use stakeholder mapping to resolve blockers
- 5Experience creating customer access where no obvious entry point existed
- 6Conversion of pilots demonstrations exercises or experimentation efforts into funded follow-on opportunities
- 7Building net-new customer relationships and developing account teaming proposal pricing or subcontractor strategies
- 8Familiarity with OTAs SBIR Phase III BAA STRATFI TACFI xTech DIU or similar pathways
- 9Experience with RF sensing EW SIGINT edge AI tactical data integration mission systems or field-deployed sensing technologies
- 10Active TS/SCI eligibility or experience in classified customer environments
Salary Insight
$150 - $230k per year
