Assistant General Manager, Walmart Returns Operations
Overview
Owning daily operations for a high-volume fashion and jewelry returns facility, ensuring production, quality, and safety goals are met. This role leads a team of associates and managers, driving business plans, financial performance, and compliance with Walmart standards. What You'll Do10
- 1Develop and implement the business plan for the returns area, achieving facility goals for production, quality, and safety, with a focus on fashion and jewelry categories.
- 2Forecast and follow up on staffing, workload, and performance results to meet business demands, using Walmart systems for scheduling and tracking.
- 3Manage financial aspects, including monitoring expenses against budget, asset utilization, and preparing business reports in Excel.
- 4Ensure facility-wide compliance with Logistics and company quality and safety standards, maintaining procedures and documentation.
- 5Investigate and resolve associate, customer, and supplier concerns, using judgment or consulting others as needed.
- 6Serve as a community liaison, participating in local organizations and championing company-sponsored programs.
- 7Supervise and manage associates and leaders, giving direction, communicating goals, monitoring performance, and providing feedback.
- 8Participate in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates facility-wide, building high-performing teams.
- 9Drive continuous improvements, adopting new technologies and skills, and supporting others through change.
- 10Champion Walmart values of respect, integrity, and customer service in all interactions.
Requirements7
- 1Bachelor's Degree in business or related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration) with 2+ years in a senior management role in operations/distribution/logistics, including supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers.
- 22+ years as a Walmart Logistics Operations Manager with supervisory and development responsibilities.
- 34+ years in a senior management role in operations/distribution/logistics/retail, managing workload and hiring/promoting employees facility-wide.
- 4Successful completion of all job-required trainings and assessments, including Academy trainings.
- 5Preferred: Financial Modeling and Analysis skills, experience with Profit and Loss (P&L) accountability, and budgeting.
- 6Preferred: Experience with Walmart Logistics Systems and managing challenging workforce issues.
- 7Preferred: Bachelor's in Finance, Logistics, Management, or Operations Management.
