Assembly Mechanic Swing Shift, Aerospace & Blueprints
Overview
You will assemble fabricated and machined metal parts into partial or completed assemblies on a 10-hour swing shift. Starting at $20-$30/hour plus shift differential, this role supports aerospace quality standards under ISO 9001 and AS9100. You'll read aerospace blueprints and use precision tools to meet production goals. Training on first shift is provided for the right candidate.
What You'll Do10
- 1Read and interpret written work orders and aerospace blueprints to determine parts requirements and assembly sequence.
- 2Clean and prepare part surfaces, applying and removing adhesives, lubricants, and sealants per work order.
- 3Insert rings, pins, and standards, fastening parts with nuts, bolts, screws, clips, and rivets using hand tools.
- 4Use hammers, punches, pliers, screwdrivers, and rivet guns to perform assembly operations.
- 5Install bushings and bearings, using hand tools to achieve close fits between parts.
- 6Operate drill presses, presses, or riveting machines to assist in assembly.
- 7Measure with micrometers, calipers, torque wrenches, and dial indicators, interpreting readings for precision.
- 8Handle parts and assemblies carefully to prevent damage to finishes or coatings, then perform functional testing.
- 9Support and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality systems, conferring with supervisors on issues.
- 10Meet productivity and quality standards while contributing to a positive work environment.
Requirements8
- 1Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, aerospace blueprints and drawings, manuals, and safety regulations.
- 2Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- 3Follow written, oral, and diagrammatic instructions accurately.
- 4Manual dexterity to handle tools and parts, with ability to sit or stand for 10 hours per day.
- 5Lift and move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- 6U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee per ITAR regulations.
- 7Willingness to train during first shift hours before moving to swing shift.
- 8Availability for standard 10-hour shifts, 4-day work weeks (3:50pm - 2:20am).
