Overview
The role owns the design and execution of hardware infrastructure for Google's Atlanta data center. This Area Lead manages a distributed team of Site Leaders and drives operational excellence across multiple facilities. You will shape the regional identity through safety initiatives and cultural development.
What You'll Do9
- 1Lead, mentor, and hire a distributed team of Site Leaders to drive operational consistency, safety, and KPIs
- 2Foster a high-performance culture using Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) while empowering local leadership
- 3Oversee the full hardware and software lifecycle including installation and maintenance
- 4Ensure data center priorities align directly with Cloud Infrastructure and broader business objectives
- 5Drive efficiency and optimize resource allocation across the Area
- 6Strategically align business objectives with workforce development to maximize output and operational performance
- 7Collaborate with stakeholders including Data Center Operations Networking Safety and Construction
- 8Host site visits for internal and external executives
- 9Partner with Government Affairs to manage engagements with public officials during key milestones
Requirements8
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 23 years managing technical teams for hardware server operations
- 33 years developing and managing managers
- 4Experience with Linux operating systems
- 5Experience with network architecture development
- 6Bachelor`s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
- 710 years managing technical teams in charge of installing configuring testing troubleshooting maintaining hardware servers
- 8Ability to work non-standard hours including weekends night shifts holidays
