Archaeological Field Technician - TRC Companies
Overview
You will own archaeological fieldwork quality across utility and transmission projects in Central and Northern California. Using GPS and Trimble technology, you will conduct surveys, testing, data recovery, and monitoring while ensuring data integrity. You will coordinate with project managers on requirements and complete desktop reviews of prior survey coverage. What You'll Do6
- 1Ensure quality of archaeological data, fieldwork, and paperwork on utility and transmission projects.
- 2Conduct archaeological surveys, testing, data recovery, and monitoring using GPS and Trimble equipment.
- 3Complete desktop reviews of utility and transmission projects to assess prior survey coverage.
- 4Coordinate with project managers to meet project requirements and expectations.
- 5Deliver timely task completion while maintaining technical excellence in the field.
- 6Document field observations and artifacts accurately for regulatory compliance.
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor's degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a related discipline.
- 21+ years of experience in archaeological surveys and/or excavations.
- 3Ability to think critically in the field.
- 4Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS, Trimble) preferred.
- 5Commitment to quality and safety.
- 6Willingness to walk long distances and perform physically demanding tasks in varying environments, including steep terrain, heat, and cold.
- 7Availability to travel, with excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and on a team.
- 8Valid driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle records check.
- 9Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical, and motor vehicle records check.
