Overview
You will own cage wash operations and daily husbandry across a San Francisco facility. Reporting to the facility manager, you will keep animal housing clean and compliant with AALAS standards. What You'll Do8
- 1Collect dirty cages from all animal rooms and transport them to the wash area.
- 2Operate cage wash equipment, including tunnel washer and rack washer, following standard protocols.
- 3Move and store clean equipment and supplies, maintaining inventory levels.
- 4Assist with cage change-outs and room checks as directed by senior staff.
- 5Maintain facility cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and removing trash and biohazardous waste from hallways and common areas.
- 6Perform daily maintenance of footbaths and mats to ensure disinfection.
- 7Sort and stage recycled and compostable items for pickup.
- 8Launder facility scrubs and uniforms, ensuring availability for staff.
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or equivalent.
- 21+ year experience as an Animal Technician in a research facility.
- 3ALAT certification from AALAS preferred.
- 4Hands-on experience with animal husbandry and cage wash equipment.
- 5Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- 6Flexibility to work 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM or 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM shifts, determined by department needs.
- 7Reliable transportation to commute to San Francisco, CA 94158.
- 8Willingness to complete a 26-week contract assignment.
