Overview
You will own the design and delivery of production-grade agentic applications that automate multi-step IT and business workflows at Exelixis. You will convert prototypes into hardened, testable services using Python, AWS Bedrock, and Databricks Mosaic AI, integrating LLMs, tools, and enterprise data. You will collaborate with security, platform, and product teams to set engineering standards and evangelize secure-by-design principles. What You'll Do7
- 1Design and ship end-to-end agentic applications and multi-agent workflows that automate IT and business processes, delivering measurable outcomes within the first 90 days.
- 2Convert prototypes into hardened, production-ready services with clear specs, modular design, error handling, and test coverage across Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- 3Integrate LLMs, prompts, tools, REST APIs, and enterprise data sources like AWS Bedrock and Databricks Mosaic AI into reliable use cases.
- 4Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated evaluation harnesses, observability, and artifact versioning for AI workloads.
- 5Write architecture notes, runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentation to ensure operability and maintainability.
- 6Lead prompt and code reviews, threat modeling, and release-readiness gates, applying secure-by-design and responsible AI principles.
- 7Contribute reusable components and internal libraries to the platform, partnering with product and platform teams to scale solutions.
Requirements9
- 15+ years in software engineering, data science, or related field, including 2-4 years building LLM-enabled applications, agentic workflows, or API integrations.
- 2Intermediate to advanced Python and JavaScript/TypeScript, including modular design, testing, and packaging.
- 3Intermediate proficiency with agent frameworks and patterns: tool use, planning/execution loops, guardrails, and evaluation.
- 4Experience building and consuming REST APIs with OAuth/JWT, secrets management, and secure data handling.
- 5Hands-on CI/CD and automated testing (unit/integration), linting, and observability for AI applications.
- 6Strong security best practices, architecture design, and responsible AI/data governance.
- 7Intermediate experience with AWS Bedrock, Databricks Mosaic AI, and RAG patterns with vector stores.
- 8Intermediate knowledge of AI-native engineering using Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent.
- 9Preferred: experience with evaluation frameworks, red-teaming, or LLM observability tooling.
