You will be the first line of support for homeowners facing tax sale issues, making a tangible impact on their housing stability.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Support homeowners with tax sale inquiries through phone, email, and voicemail using the CRM system, resolving issues within first 90 days.
  • 2Collect and document data on assisted homeowners and county tax sale information using Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Forms, delivering a monthly report.
  • 3Apply knowledge of state tax sale laws, county policies, and relief resources like Homeowners' Property Tax Credit and Homestead Tax Credit to guide homeowners.
  • 4Maintain departmental records and files, ensuring accurate and accessible documentation for audits and reference.
  • 5Create and update outreach materials for the TSO website, social media, and print, launching at least one new resource per quarter.
  • 6Collaborate with service partners and community organizations, representing SDAT at outreach events and meetings.
  • 7Handle general office administration tasks, including managing correspondence and scheduling, to keep operations running smoothly.
  • 8Participate in cross-team projects, assisting with data clean-up or special initiatives as needed, contributing to team goals within 6 months.
  • 9Complete required training on customer service and data privacy, achieving certification within first month.
  • 10Ensure timely responses to all email and voicemail inquiries, meeting SDAT's Customer Service Policy standards.

Requirements10

  • 11+ year of administrative staff or professional work, or 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university.
  • 2High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 31+ year experience in accounting or real property fields, such as tax sale, property assessment, or property tax administration.
  • 41+ year experience interacting directly with the public via phone, email, or in-person.
  • 5Experience gathering information from internal staff or external stakeholders, as demonstrated in prior roles.
  • 6Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google platforms (Sheets, Forms, Drive).
  • 7Ability to operate a motor vehicle and hold a valid Maryland driver's license, if assigned field duties.
  • 8U.S. Armed Forces commissioned officer experience may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
