Acute Care Nephrology RN Job in San Diego
Overview
You will own inpatient dialysis care for patients with end-stage renal disease in acute hospital settings across San Diego. Deliver hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, CRRT, and apheresis in ICU, CCU, and ED units. Work with DaVita clinical staff and hospital teams in a collaborative environment. What You'll Do8
- 1Deliver hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, CRRT, and apheresis to acute patients in ICU, CCU, and ED.
- 2Collaborate with hospital teams and DaVita staff to coordinate and adjust treatment plans.
- 3Monitor patient vitals and treatment response, adjusting therapies to ensure safe outcomes.
- 4Oversee patient care with the support of PCTs (Patient Care Technicians).
- 5Adapt quickly to changing patient needs and unit assignments across multiple facilities.
- 6Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in electronic health records.
- 7Communicate patient status updates to hospital and DaVita care teams.
- 8Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends and holidays, to cover acute dialysis needs.
Requirements6
- 1Current RN license in the state of practice.
- 2ADN required; BSN preferred.
- 3ICU, CCU, ER, or Med/Surg experience helpful but not required.
- 4CNN or CDN certification preferred.
- 5Pass a color vision test (accommodations available).
- 6Full vaccination against COVID-19 may be required by hospitals, including boosters when eligible.
