X-Ray Technologist, Urgent Care Imaging
Overview
You will own radiographic imaging at a new urgent care clinic, delivering precise diagnostic images for physician and radiologist review. You join a team of clinical staff at American Family Care, a national urgent care provider, with on-site lab and x-ray. You'll also step in as a Medical Assistant or receptionist when needed, making you a versatile asset from day one. What You'll Do9
- 1Greet patients and explain imaging procedures with compassion, easing anxiety and building trust.
- 2Position patients for diagnostic imaging, ensuring optimal image quality while prioritizing comfort and safety.
- 3Apply ALARA radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure while maintaining diagnostic standards.
- 4Process images, verify identification and quality, and prepare them for physician and radiologist overreads.
- 5Operate both digital and non-digital imaging equipment, following approved protocols and safety policies.
- 6Assist the provider with prescribed treatments, adhering to clinical standards and protocols.
- 7Perform routine equipment maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
- 8Complete documentation, maintain logs, and generate reports on imaging procedures performed.
- 9Serve as Medical Receptionist or Medical Assistant as needed, supporting smooth clinic operations.
Requirements6
- 1Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent experience.
- 2Six months to one year of related imaging experience and training.
- 3ARRT registration or board eligibility preferred.
- 4State licensure as required by regulation.
- 5Acceptable certifications include Medical Assistant certification, Practical Nursing license, EMT or Paramedic certification.
- 6Bilingual Spanish skills highly preferred to serve the community.
