Veterinary Assistant Receptionist San Diego
Overview
Village Veterinary Hospital seeks a bilingual Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to support clinical and front desk operations. This role offers a flexible schedule in a friendly energetic environment. Candidates should be prepared to work onsite Saturdays and manage both patient care and administrative tasks.
What You'll Do12
- 1Assist veterinarians during exams surgeries and diagnostics with animal restraint medication administration and aseptic techniques
- 2Handle dogs and cats confidently and perform laboratory work including sample collection and specimen preparation
- 3Manage front desk duties such as scheduling appointments answering client inquiries and processing payments
- 4Administer medications as prescribed monitor post-procedure recovery and document treatments in medical records
- 5Maintain a clean clinic environment by sanitizing equipment sterilizing surgical tools and following aseptic protocols
- 6Perform hospital cleaning and sanitation assistance
- 7Support other staff with taking x-rays
- 8Prior kennel experience or animal handling background preferred
- 9Proven veterinary technician or assistant experience in a clinical setting
- 10Familiarity with veterinary terminology and strong animal restraint skills
- 11Experience with laboratory procedures blood draws and IV catheter placement
- 12Excellent communication skills for client education and front desk interactions

- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 23-5 seasons of professional experience
- 3CPC Card certification
- 4BCBA certification
- 5AWS Certified
- 65+ years constructing data pipelines using Python and AWS
- 73-5 years managing electronic health records
- 8Proven veterinary technician or assistant experience
- 9Strong animal restraint abilities
- 10Experience with laboratory procedures including blood draws and IV catheter placement
- 11Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
