Overview
Drive and operate a vacuum truck to clean and maintain storm and sanitary sewer lines on active and new construction sites in Charlotte. You will also execute hydro excavation, catch basin cleaning, and manhole maintenance while adhering to OSHA and DOT regulations. What You'll Do8
- 1Drive the vacuum truck from the shop to job sites and operate it to flush and clean storm and sanitary sewer lines, primarily on new, unused pipelines not yet in service.
- 2Perform hydro excavation, pipeline cleaning, catch basin cleaning, and manhole cleaning, including occasional work on active sewer services for warranty or emergency tasks.
- 3Lift manhole covers and storm grates to access underground structures for cleaning.
- 4Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections and complete daily inspection reports.
- 5Follow OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies, including wearing and maintaining required PPE.
- 6Perform routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on the truck and equipment.
- 7Transport collected material to the dump location and dispose of it properly.
- 8Care for all tools and equipment, ensuring they remain in good working condition.
Requirements8
- 1Valid CDL with tanker endorsement and air brakes required.
- 2Prior experience operating vacuum trucks or vacuum trailers required.
- 3Clean driving record required.
- 4Ability to lift 50–75 lbs. regularly.
- 5Comfortable entering and exiting the truck frequently and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- 6Ability to bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods.
- 7Willingness to work around traffic and on construction sites, including confined spaces.
- 8Available for occasional Saturday work.
