Utility Worker Cart Pusher, Retail Operations
Overview
You will own the cart retrieval and store cleanliness process at a high-volume retail location, ensuring every customer finds a cart and a tidy store. You will work with the service desk, check lanes, and parking lot teams to keep operations moving. This role suits someone who thrives on physical activity and direct customer interaction. You will gain exposure to multiple store departments and build a foundation for advancement within Meijer.
What You'll Do7
- 1Ferry shopping carts from the parking lot to the store entrance and interior, maintaining a steady supply for customers.
- 2Collect trash from the parking lot, lawn, and inside the store, keeping all areas clean and presentable.
- 3Operate snow removal equipment safely to clear walkways and entrances during winter weather.
- 4Process perishable and salvage returns, ensuring proper sorting and disposal.
- 5Perform basic restroom and store cleaning, including spills and high-touch surfaces.
- 6Support the service desk, store entrance, check lanes, and parking lot areas with immediate needs.
- 7Assist departments such as Health and Beauty Care, Hardlines, Fashion/Softlines, Pets, Hardware, Card and Party, Outdoor, Seasonal, and Floral with retrieval and organization tasks.
Requirements7
- 10-1 years of experience in retail or customer service roles.
- 2Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- 3Comfort with bending, twisting, and standing for long periods.
- 4Strong listening and communication skills for customer interactions.
- 5High attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and order.
- 6Willingness to work in outdoor weather conditions, including heat and cold.
- 7Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and evenings.
