Trash Truck Laborer Helper | Hotchkiss Disposal
Overview
You'll own the back of a rear load trash truck, collecting and lifting customer trash cans at the curb for hauling to the landfill. You'll operate the PTO to compact trash safely. You'll work a 4-10 schedule (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri) with most Wednesdays and weekends off. This role offers paid training, benefits, and a crew that gets you home every night.
What You'll Do7
- 1Collect and lift curbside trash cans and bags into the rear load truck on each route.
- 2Operate the Power Take Off (PTO) to tip cans and compact trash safely.
- 3Learn the route and customers in a timely manner, building efficiency and accuracy.
- 4Spot the truck while the driver backs up to avoid accidents and property damage.
- 5Wear PPE (gloves, safety glasses, safety vest) and keep the truck and work areas tidy.
- 6Lift items up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the day.
- 7Assist other employees and company needs as requested, supporting team goals.
Requirements7
- 1Previous experience preferred but not required.
- 2Pass a drug test (pre-employment, random, post-accident) and background check.
- 3Must wear required PPE (gloves, safety glasses, safety vest) at all times.
- 4Must have reliable transportation to/from work daily.
- 5Must be reliable and able to work full-time hours (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM).
- 6May need to pass a health physical if required.
- 7Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
