Test Technician Job in Detroit | Actalent Contract
Overview
You will own prototype test sample assembly and instrumentation at an onsite Detroit facility. You'll build custom low-voltage and high-voltage wiring harnesses, configure advanced laboratory equipment, and troubleshoot experimental setups. This contract role pairs hands-on fabrication with daily lab operations, supporting inventory, calibration, and safety. You'll work closely with engineers to ensure test readiness, with 3+ years of hands-on experience expected.
What You'll Do7
- 1Assemble prototype test samples and instrument them with diagnostic sensors for first 90 days.
- 2Build custom low-voltage and high-voltage wiring harnesses to spec.
- 3Configure and operate advanced laboratory equipment for test execution.
- 4Troubleshoot experimental setups and perform routine equipment maintenance.
- 5Execute safe systematic teardowns of test articles.
- 6Manage inventory, shipping and receiving, and equipment calibration to support daily lab operations.
- 7Maintain a safe, highly organized facility per safety protocols.
Requirements8
- 13+ years fabricating test fixtures and building vehicle wire harnesses.
- 2Experience in diagnostics, mechanical fabrication, or electronics.
- 3High school diploma or GED.
- 4Ability to assemble and instrument prototype test samples.
- 5Proficiency with low-voltage and high-voltage wiring harness construction.
- 6Skilled in configuring and operating advanced laboratory equipment.
- 7Hands-on troubleshooting and teardown experience.
- 8Familiarity with inventory management and equipment calibration.
