What You'll Do10
- 1Greet customers with a smile and take orders accurately at the register, handling cash and digital payments.
- 2Build sandwiches on the line, layering ingredients to spec for dine-in, takeout, and delivery orders.
- 3Prepare fresh ingredients like slicing veggies, scooping tuna salad, and portioning cookies and chips.
- 4Operate the automatic slicer (if 18+) to prep meats and cheeses for the line.
- 5Stock the front line, chip rack, and cooler to keep service fast and uninterrupted.
- 6Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, and kitchen equipment to meet health and safety standards.
- 7Handle customer complaints with a calm, solution-first approach, escalating to Shift Leaders as needed.
- 8Answer phones for delivery, catering, and pickup orders, ensuring accuracy and pickup times.
- 9Follow all food safety protocols, including allergen handling for peanuts, eggs, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish.
- 10Close or open the shop, balancing the cash drawer and completing end-of-day checklists.
Requirements9
- 116+ years old to work in the shop
- 2Friendly, customer-first mindset with stamina for a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- 3Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with team and customers
- 4Comfortable in a bustling kitchen, with knife skills as a plus
- 5Ability to manage allergens: peanut, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish
- 6Reliable team player who can follow direction and pivot between stations
- 7Stand or walk for 3+ hours per shift, with breaks as needed
- 8Lift 10 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
- 9For Illinois positions: obtain food safety certification within 30 days of hire
