What You'll Do8
- 1Deliver targeted instructional services to visually impaired students via Zoom and Google Meet in the first 90 days.
- 2Assess student needs and craft individualized learning plans that address visual impairment challenges.
- 3Collaborate with school staff and families to implement appropriate accommodations and resources.
- 4Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to improve learning outcomes.
- 5Maintain accurate records of services provided and student performance in IEP systems.
- 6Integrate assistive technologies like screen readers and braille devices into lessons.
- 7Communicate effectively with students, parents, and district teams in a remote setting.
- 8Manage a caseload independently, scheduling sessions and meeting deadlines.
Requirements7
- 1Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments.
- 2Active Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification.
- 31+ years of TVI experience in a school setting.
- 4Experience with telehealth or remote teaching methods.
- 5Strong understanding of assistive technologies and adaptation strategies.
- 6Excellent communication skills for remote engagement with students, families, and educators.
- 7Ability to work independently and manage a remote caseload efficiently.
