Overview

You will own tax due diligence for buy-side and sell-side transactions at Deloitte, supporting corporate and private equity buyers. This role offers 2+ years of corporate tax experience and a path to CPA, JD, or Enrolled Agent accreditation. You will lead workstreams and mentor junior team members, with 25% travel expected.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Lead tax due diligence for buy-side and sell-side transactions, identifying key risks and opportunities for corporate and private equity clients.
  • 2Model tax implications of acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and other strategic structures using Excel and Alteryx.
  • 3Prepare due diligence reports, summarizing findings and recommendations for C-suite and executive stakeholders.
  • 4Research complex tax issues under IRC Section 338 and IRC Section 1060, applying findings to transaction planning.
  • 5Collaborate with client stakeholders and cross-functional teams to evaluate tax risks and support transaction execution.
  • 6Manage multiple workstreams, prioritize tasks, and deliver high-quality work within client deadlines.
  • 7Mentor junior staff, providing clear guidance on tax technical matters and project execution.

Requirements7

  • 12+ years of corporate tax experience with a Big 4 organization, law firm, or multinational company tax department.
  • 2Bachelor's degree in Accounting, JD, or LLM.
  • 3Licensed CPA in state of practice, or if not CPA eligible, Licensed Attorney or Enrolled Agent.
  • 4Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model, co-locating in person 2-3 days per week.
  • 5Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on client and industry needs.
  • 6Experience in tax consulting and tax compliance, including preparing written deliverables for senior stakeholders.
  • 7Experience leading project tasks or coordinating workstreams.
