Tax Appraiser Residential
Overview
Residential appraiser determines assessed value for tax purposes. Works independently managing property listings and conducting field inspections. Provides accurate measurements and documentation for new and existing construction. This role differs by focusing on residential property valuation.
What You'll Do9
- 1Enter real estate data into database and input parcel information for appraisal process
- 2Review permits and listings to determine field visit needs for property assessments
- 3Appraise residential dwellings using sketches images and building component documentation
- 4Perform work appraising new and existing construction parcel slips and sales
- 5Research gather information to render accurate property value judgments
- 6Communicate with taxpayers regarding property tax values
- 7Prepare defense reports for Board of Equalization and Review appeals
- 8Maintain valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving history
- 9Develop independent work methods and sequences under general supervision
Requirements7
- 1High School Graduation or GED equivalent
- 2Two years real estate valuation experience or equivalent
- 3Real Property Appraiser certification from North Carolina Department of Revenue
- 4Personal Property Appraiser certification from North Carolina Department of Revenue
- 5Real Property Appraiser certification from North Carolina Association of Assessing Officers
- 6Physical ability to walk stand and exert 20-50 pounds regularly
- 7Ability to operate mechanical tools with moderate accuracy
