St Thomas More Commissary Manager
Overview
The Commissary Manager leads the St Thomas More Mobile Loaves & Fishes Truck Ministry ensuring dignified service to those experiencing homelessness. This role reports to the Director of Outreach and Pastoral Care and focuses on ministry growth volunteer engagement operational oversight fundraising support and partnership compliance.
What You'll Do11
- 1Lead and grow the Mobile Loaves & Fishes Truck Ministry as a mission centered outreach ministry.
- 2Engage parishioners in meaningful service fostering a dignity first culture aligned with Mobile Loaves & Fishes and St Thomas More Catholic Church.
- 3Recruit train schedule and support volunteers across all ministry areas.
- 4Coordinate volunteer teams including Truck Teams Captains Drivers Loading Teams and Support Volunteers.
- 5Ensure volunteers meet Diocese of Austin EIM and parish compliance requirements.
- 6Manage commissary communications and respond promptly to inquiries.
- 7Coordinate weekly truck runs food preparation inventory and truck scheduling.
- 8Oversee inventory supply management and the STM Clothing Closet.
- 9Maintain and oversee the MLF Tracker app and coordinate with Mobile Loaves & Fishes staff.
- 10Ensure adherence to partnership agreements reporting incidents and serving as liaison with MLF staff.
- 11Support fundraising budgeting and sustainable funding efforts for ministry operations.
Requirements6
- 1Knowledge of City of Austin permitting requirements and health regulations for commissary operations.
- 2Ability to obtain an active Food Manager’s Certification within the first two weeks of employment.
- 3Proficiency with email scheduling systems and basic computer applications.
- 4Strong organizational and administrative skills with ability to coordinate multiple moving pieces.
- 5Bilingual English Spanish preferred but not required.
- 6Catholic faith and good standing in the Diocese of Austin.
