Spring Boot Technical Lead, Java/J2EE & REST APIs
Overview
You will own the technical architecture and delivery of Spring Boot services that handle millions of requests per day, driving the core of our client's platform. You will lead a team of 6-8 engineers, setting coding standards, conducting design reviews, and mentoring developers while staying hands-on. This role centers on building resilient APIs and optimizing Java performance in a collaborative, results-driven environment.
What You'll Do9
- 1Lead the design and implementation of microservices using Spring Boot, Java, and J2EE within the first 90 days.
- 2Architect and develop RESTful APIs that are secure, scalable, and maintainable, ensuring high throughput and low latency.
- 3Drive the adoption of clean code practices, TDD, and CI/CD pipelines to improve delivery speed and code quality.
- 4Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs and execution plans.
- 5Mentor junior developers through pair programming, code reviews, and technical knowledge sharing sessions.
- 6Conduct system performance analysis and tuning, using profiling tools to identify bottlenecks and implement fixes.
- 7Define and enforce coding standards and architectural guidelines across the team, ensuring consistency and scalability.
- 8Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily standups, providing technical input and estimating effort.
- 9Troubleshoot production issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
Requirements8
- 18+ years of experience in Java development, with at least 3 years in a technical lead role.
- 2Deep expertise in Spring Boot and Spring Cloud, including microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
- 3Proficiency in J2EE technologies, including Servlets, JSP, JPA, and Hibernate.
- 4Hands-on experience with SQL databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL, and familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
- 5Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins.
- 6Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- 7Experience with Agile development methodologies and leading offshore/onsite teams.
- 8Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
