What You'll Do10

  • 1Develop and implement IEPs with goals, accommodations, and modifications for each student on your caseload.
  • 2Deliver specially designed instruction using evidence-based strategies and differentiated learning approaches.
  • 3Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and assessments to support diverse learners.
  • 4Monitor and document student academic, behavioral, and developmental progress through data collection and reporting.
  • 5Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, administrators, and families.
  • 6Lead IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
  • 7Implement positive behavioral interventions and classroom management strategies.
  • 8Create a structured, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • 9Support students in developing academic, social, communication, and independent living skills.
  • 10Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations.

Requirements8

  • 1Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 2Valid Minnesota Special Education teaching license through the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB).
  • 3Appropriate Minnesota Special Education license/endorsement for the assigned student population and disability area.
  • 4Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance requirements.
  • 5Ability to differentiate instruction and support students with varying academic, behavioral, and developmental needs.
  • 6Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • 7Successful completion of required background screening and district onboarding requirements.
  • 8Previous experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
