Overview
You will deliver specially designed instruction to 4th and 5th graders in an Illinois school district, implementing IEPs and adapting curriculum for diverse learning needs. You will collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support academic and developmental growth. This full-time role for 2026–2027 requires an active Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement. You will own student progress tracking and IEP goal achievement in a structured classroom environment.
What You'll Do6
- 1Deliver specially designed instruction to 4th and 5th grade students, using IEP goals to guide daily lessons
- 2Develop and implement instructional plans aligned with each student's IEP, adjusting for individual learning profiles
- 3Differentiate lessons and materials to address academic and developmental needs across grade levels
- 4Monitor academic progress and maintain accurate educational records to track goal attainment
- 5Coordinate with general education teachers and related service professionals to align support strategies
- 6Lead and participate in IEP meetings, communicating student progress to families and staff
Requirements3
- 1Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- 2Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement
- 3Previous school-based special education experience preferred
