Solutions Engineer, Publishing API & Forms Platform
Overview
Own the technical vision for the Publishing API and Forms portfolio at Liberty Mutual. This platform generates, packages, and distributes documents for Claims, Policy, Billing, and Finance across US and APAC, handling 90M+ annual transactions. You will lead the strategy to converge legacy Documaker systems onto a cloud-native AWS stack using Java, Python, and LibreOffice. As part of a leadership team, you will mentor engineers, shape architectural decisions, and connect cross-portfolio capabilities like eSignature, Nebula, and Interactive Communications. This role offers executive visibility and the chance to solve complex legacy retirement challenges while driving modern forms development.
What You'll Do10
- 1Translate business strategies into technology solutions alongside product leaders and system architects for the Publishing API portfolio.
- 2Lead the vision and execution to consolidate legacy Documaker technologies onto PubAPI and refine forms development excellence.
- 3Mentor developers across agile teams, guiding them to deliver robust solutions and grow their skills.
- 4Dissect and prepare complex features, assisting teams with challenging implementation issues hands-on.
- 5Consult on major architectural designs to ensure consistency, security, maintainability, and flexibility across the ECS portfolio.
- 6Foster a high-performing culture based on trust, honesty, and transparency as part of the broader leadership team.
- 7Design solutions that integrate Publishing with eSignature, Nebula, Interactive Communications, and Enrich for cohesive client journeys.
- 8Drive the convergence of legacy and cloud-native systems, ensuring seamless migration with minimal disruption.
- 9Identify patterns and problems across teams, delivering effective solutions to improve platform reliability and scalability.
- 10Champion best practices in Python, Java, and AWS architecture, code review, and test-driven development.
Requirements10
- 110+ years of software engineering experience delivering enterprise-level solutions.
- 2Bachelor's or master's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 3Experience architecting cloud-hosted, responsive web applications using Python, Java, and AWS.
- 4Strong background in code review and a comprehensive understanding of agile environments.
- 5Knowledge of contemporary frameworks and emerging technologies in cloud-native development.
- 6Solid negotiation, facilitation, consensus building, and influencing capabilities.
- 7Ability to identify patterns and problems across teams and deliver effective solutions.
- 8Openness and adaptability to respond to fast-moving circumstances.
- 9A design thinking and test-driven development mindset.
- 10Strong business operations and strategy background, including knowledge of global business, technology trends, and the financial services industry.
