Software Engineer, Full Stack — India | $25-$30/hr Remote
Overview
This role puts you on a frontier AI lab's GenAI team, building and testing real software on top of large language models before they're released. You'll work across the full stack—Python, Java, Rust, C#, C++, or TypeScript—to integrate model APIs, build evaluation harnesses, and diagnose failure modes. The pace is fast, requirements shift, and you're expected to contribute working code within your first week. It's a fully remote, 40-hour-per-week engagement paying $25–$30/hr.
What You'll Do5
- 1Build and ship full-stack applications, services, and internal tools that exercise frontier model capabilities end to end in Python, Java, Rust, C#, C++, or TypeScript.
- 2Wire pre-release model APIs into working software, including the surrounding scaffolding like tool interfaces, evaluation harnesses, and telemetry.
- 3Spot and document model and integration failure modes you encounter, turning engineering observations into clear written feedback for the research team.
- 4Prototype quickly against shifting requirements, delivering working increments even when the spec is thin.
- 5Collaborate with the engineering manager and other engineers to keep code quality, architecture, and technical documentation consistent.
Requirements7
- 13+ years of professional experience shipping production software at a top-tier organization.
- 2Deep production experience in at least one of Python, Java, Rust, C#, or C++, plus working proficiency in a second language.
- 3Full-stack expertise: backend services and APIs, a modern front-end framework like React or equivalent, relational or document databases, and cloud deployment.
- 4A proven ability to onboard onto an unfamiliar codebase and deliver working code quickly with minimal ramp-up.
- 5Demonstrable career progression and a track record of taking on increasing responsibility.
- 6Reliable availability for at least 40 hours per week during weekdays.
- 7Strong written communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly.
