Showroom Attendant, Steel Fittings & Warehouse
Overview
You will own the showroom floor at a steel fittings supplier in Northwest Houston, keeping displays clean, organized, and stocked for walk-in customers. Working Monday to Friday with overtime as needed, you will handle inventory checks, order fulfillment, and light repairs using tools like Forklifts, Threading Machine, and Shrink Fast Gun. You will collaborate with warehouse staff to maintain stock levels and ensure a safe, presentable environment. This role suits a hands-on worker who takes pride in visual order and accurate order picking.
What You'll Do9
- 1Keep showroom aisles clean and free of debris by sweeping, dusting, and cleaning spills daily.
- 2Organize merchandise into neat rows and maintain neat shelves, bins, and product displays.
- 3Unpack, label, and assemble products for sale, performing minor repairs on items as needed.
- 4Perform daily inventory checks and submit stock requests to maintain showroom levels.
- 5Fill customer orders accurately, double-checking size, grade, alloy, quality, and heat numbers.
- 6Operate Forklifts, Threading Machine, and Shrink Fast Gun safely for loading and unloading.
- 7Follow special instructions on pick tickets and adhere to all company policies.
- 8Maintain a safe showroom for customers and staff, keeping walkways clear and hazards addressed.
- 9Provide courteous, knowledgeable service to customers about all products.
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2Previous experience in steel manufacturing or industrial showroom preferred.
- 3Ability to pass background and drug/alcohol screening.
- 4Stand for long periods and lift, climb, and perform physical tasks.
- 5Handle, lift, and carry steel parts up to 50 lbs.
- 6Read pick tickets, tape measures, and other measuring devices.
- 7Use basic math skills for inventory and order counts.
- 8Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- 9Read and communicate effectively in English; bilingual preferred.
- 10Flexible schedule for overtime on short notice, and maintain a clean, professional appearance in PPE.
