Overview
Lead the development of machine learning pipelines for robot manipulation at Berkshire Grey, a leader in AI and robotics. You will own solutions from prototype to production, working with Python, C++, and ROS2. What You'll Do8
- 1Train and adapt machine learning architectures for robot learning and visual scene understanding using Python and PyTorch.
- 2Develop and refine the robot policy learning data collection application, ensuring high-quality demonstrations and annotations.
- 3Evaluate robot logs, sensor data, and failure cases to determine suitability for fine-tuning robot foundation models.
- 4Stay current with robotics and AI research, assessing applicability to new tasks and environments.
- 5Collaborate with external research partners to solve challenges in manipulation and perception.
- 6Mentor junior engineers and interns, guiding them on best practices in ROS2 and C++ development.
- 7Prototype solutions rapidly, creating demos for stakeholders and visitors.
- 8Own solutions from prototype to production, ensuring robust and scalable deployment with Git and CI/CD.
Requirements10
- 1Master's degree in Robotics, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or a related field.
- 23+ years experience in software development for robotics or automation.
- 3Strong development expertise in Python and C++.
- 4Experience with modern software engineering tooling including Git and CI/CD.
- 5Hands-on experience with ROS or ROS2.
- 6Proven ability to design and implement software for real robots, including troubleshooting of robot systems.
- 7Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and communicate technical decisions clearly.
- 8Experience with computer vision for manipulation (e.g., grasp estimation, object detection) or motion planning for bimanual manipulation.
- 9Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and robot simulators like Isaac Sim or MuJoCo.
- 10Experience with Docker, cloud computing, or parallel/distributed systems.
