Senior Research Associate Cell Analytical Development Contract
Overview
Vertex seeks a Senior Research Associate for a 6-month contract to expand testing capabilities and support analytical activities. The ideal candidate has strong cell culture expertise and experience with automated platforms. This role involves collaborating across functional teams to develop Cell and Gene Therapy processes. What You'll Do11
- 1Carry out manual and automated cell culture of primary cells stem cells and mammalian cell lines to support preclinical clinical and next generation cell therapy programs
- 2Provide analytical testing support for cell-based assays including cell count viability and high throughput fluorescence assays using liquid handlers flow cytometers and high content microscopes
- 3Assist development teams with setting up monitoring and completing daily automated runs and integrated systems
- 4Continuously monitor automation systems evaluate efficiency and effectiveness and report findings
- 5Perform sample testing using techniques such as Cell Culture Flow Cytometry and ELISA presenting data at internal meetings
- 6Coordinate shipment handling reagents and track inventory for multiple projects
- 7Participate in data management ensure timely delivery of deliverables
- 8Support Tuesday to Saturday with occasional off schedule days and second shift coverage
- 9Maintain detailed ELN documentation and share knowledge via collaboration platforms
- 10Follow SOPs review protocols and adhere to lab safety protocols
- 11Contribute to lab organization compliance and GLP environment practices
Requirements11
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 23-5 seasons experience in biologics or cell and gene therapy space
- 3BS with 2+ years experience or MS with 0-2 years experience
- 4Requires graduate degree in Cell & Molecular Biology Biochemistry Immunology or related field
- 5Strong pipetting skills and aseptic cell culture technique
- 6Experience culturing stem cells primary cells and cell lines
- 7Proficiency with robotic liquid handlers Hamilton or other and Fluent Gx or VENUS software
- 8Knowledge of SOPs and ability to execute cell culture assays
- 9Excellent communication skills collaborative cross functional teamwork
- 10Strong organizational skills attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple projects
- 11Preferred industry experience in cell and gene therapy space

$38 - $45k per year
