Senior React Developer, Banking Payments
Overview
You will own the migration of a legacy JavaScript payments platform to modern React at a major banking client. You will join a 15-person front-end team inside a large enterprise environment, working directly with product managers and UX designers. This role focuses on building responsive, high-performance interfaces for financial transactions, with zero tolerance for bugs. You will lead the technical approach for migrating critical payment flows, ensuring the highest standards of code quality and security.
What You'll Do9
- 1Own the migration of JavaScript applications to React, delivering the first major feature within 90 days.
- 2Build reusable React components and libraries for the payments UI, ensuring consistency across the platform.
- 3Collaborate with back-end teams to integrate REST APIs, handling real-time transaction data with precision.
- 4Drive the adoption of TypeScript across the codebase, reducing runtime errors and improving maintainability.
- 5Design responsive web interfaces that work flawlessly on desktop and mobile devices for banking customers.
- 6Mentor junior developers on React best practices, conducting code reviews and pairing sessions.
- 7Lead the technical design for complex payment features, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- 8Optimize application performance, targeting sub-second load times for critical transaction screens.
- 9Debug and resolve production issues in the payments platform, implementing permanent fixes.
Requirements8
- 112+ years of front-end development experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
- 25+ years hands-on with React.js, including hooks, context, and state management.
- 33+ years with TypeScript, building strict typed components and services.
- 4Strong JavaScript fundamentals, including ES6+ and asynchronous patterns.
- 5Proven experience migrating JavaScript applications to React.
- 6Experience building responsive web applications that adapt to various screen sizes.
- 7Strong experience with REST APIs, including error handling and data transformation.
- 8Experience in banking or fintech, particularly with payments systems, is required.
