
Senior Python Developer, Liquidity & Risk Analytics
Overview
You will own liquidity risk analytics for a global banking client, building tools that model cash flows and stress scenarios at enterprise scale. You join a cross-functional team of quants, risk managers, and engineers in New York, working onsite four days a week. You will design and implement Python-based solutions that replace legacy spreadsheets and manual reporting. This role stands out because you will work directly with risk stakeholders to shape daily decision-making.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build Python and PySpark pipelines that process daily liquidity positions and produce regulatory reports.
- 2Design Django APIs to expose risk metrics to front-office and compliance teams.
- 3Develop financial models for cash flow forecasting and stress testing using Pandas and NumPy.
- 4Optimize performance of risk calculations by profiling and refactoring code, reducing runtime by 30%.
- 5Collaborate with quants to translate mathematical models into production-grade software.
- 6Write unit tests and integration tests to ensure accuracy of risk calculations.
- 7Participate in code reviews and enforce best practices for version control and documentation.
- 8Troubleshoot production issues and implement fixes within SLA.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of hands-on software development with Python, PySpark, Pandas, and Django.
- 24-6 years of experience in liquidity analysis and risk analytics within financial services.
- 3Strong background in computer science, including algorithms, data structures, and software design.
- 4Proficiency with SQL and relational databases for data extraction and aggregation.
- 5Experience with version control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- 6Knowledge of financial products and risk concepts, including cash flow modeling and stress testing.
