Senior Mechanical Engineer
Overview
Lead engineering activities at Greenfield Application Center while supporting customer projects equipment integration and advanced manufacturing development. This role combines mechanical engineering manufacturing process development robotics integration laboratory management and customer support.
What You'll Do19
- 1Lead development and optimization of laser welding processes for customer applications
- 2Design develop and validate manufacturing processes fixtures tooling and workholding solutions
- 3Plan and execute engineering trials collect data analyze results and prepare technical reports
- 4Evaluate weld quality through visual inspection dimensional measurements and metallographic analysis
- 5Support development of robust manufacturing solutions for production environments
- 6Coordinate laboratory schedules equipment utilization and customer demonstrations
- 7Maintain laboratory equipment fixtures robotics and engineering documentation
- 8Ensure safe operation of high-power laser systems and laboratory equipment
- 9Work directly with customers to understand manufacturing challenges and recommend laser welding solutions
- 10Provide technical presentations and engineering recommendations throughout the sales process
- 11Support process implementation at customer facilities
- 12Design and improve fixtures tooling automation systems and mechanical assemblies
- 13Support integration of robotics positioners motion systems seam tracking and vision systems
- 14Assist customers with troubleshooting mechanical manufacturing automation and process-related issues
- 15Travel to customer facilities to provide engineering and technical support
- 16Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency process robustness and product quality
- 17Develop engineering standards work instructions and technical documentation
- 18Provide feedback to global engineering and R&D teams to support future product improvements
- 19Support development of new manufacturing capabilities and application technologies
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor`s degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline
- 25+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering automation industrial equipment robotics or heavy fabrication
- 3Experience developing manufacturing processes and production equipment
- 4Strong understanding of mechanical design fixtures and manufacturing methods
- 5Experience with industrial robotics CNC systems motion control or automated manufacturing equipment
- 6Knowledge of laser processing welding machining or metal fabrication
- 7Willingness to travel approximately 25–35% throughout North America
- 8Experience with industrial automation or robotic systems ABB FANUC KUKA etc.
- 9Knowledge of welding metallurgy or manufacturing process development
- 10Experience working directly with customers on technical projects
- 11Pay range $100000.00 - $130000.00 per year
