What You'll Do16

  • 1Manage and execute key R&D projects from early development to commercialization under product leadership
  • 2Lead project teams and collaborate with cross-functional groups to foster innovation
  • 3Generate data to support marketing initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance
  • 4Guide bench scientists and troubleshoot experiments to maintain scientific excellence
  • 5Contribute to R&D strategy while balancing internal efforts with external collaborations
  • 6Stay current on emerging trends in probiotics and microbiome research
  • 7Work with executive, clinical, revenue, data, and product teams to align initiatives
  • 8Coordinate with marketing and external partners for science-based projects
  • 9Communicate R&D progress and findings to product leadership and stakeholders
  • 10Attend industry conferences and scientific meetings
  • 11Design, develop, and optimize microbiome products and formulations
  • 12Establish clear goals and mentorship for a team of scientists
  • 13Oversee multiple projects with timely delivery within budget constraints
  • 14Build data analysis infrastructure and align practices with Data Science
  • 15Coordinate external partnerships including CROs and manufacturing partners
  • 16Develop novel assays and collaborate with academic researchers

Requirements11

  • 1Ph.D. in Microbiology Immunology Biochemistry Molecular Biology or related field (or M.S. with equivalent experience)
  • 25+ years progressive R&D experience in biopharma with 2-3 years in management or team-lead roles
  • 3Record of achievements including publications patents and product development
  • 4Track record of leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with bench scientists
  • 5Hands-on expertise in microbiome research or related disciplines
  • 6Experience developing products from concept to market in regulated environments
  • 7Strong analytical skills for designing experiments and analyzing complex datasets
  • 8Deep understanding of microbiome science probiotic strains formulation science and biopharma development
  • 9Ability to foster cross-functional collaboration and manage external partnerships
  • 10Publications or patents in microbiome-related fields
  • 11Familiarity with cell culture and in vitro assays for strain characterization
