Senior Data Scientist Authentication
Overview
Lead strategic data science initiatives to shape authentication and security roadmaps. Drive improvements in authentication success rates and reduce account takeover risks. Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance user protection and engagement. This role differs by focusing on scaling security solutions within a high-stakes product area.
What You'll Do7
- 1Shape Authentication & Security roadmaps with strategic data science guidance across account creation login and account recovery features
- 2Identify and size high-impact levers to improve authentication success rates and reduce account takeover rates
- 3Design and evaluate feature experiments across sign-up login and account-recovery funnels
- 4Quantify tradeoffs between security friction and user protection assessing downstream engagement and retention
- 5Develop evaluation metrics and ground-truth labeling strategies to strengthen security detection models
- 6Translate friction points in authentication journeys into actionable product recommendations
- 7Communicate insights to leadership and cross-functional partners to drive prioritization and tradeoff decisions
Requirements5
- 15+ years of industry experience in data science economics analytics or machine learning engineering
- 22+ years of experience using scripting languages Python R and big data tools SQL Hive Spark and Airflow
- 3Knowledge of ML and deep learning via formal training or industry experience
- 4Ability to apply creative first-principles reasoning to solve ambiguous problems
- 5Advanced degree and/or PhD in statistics computer science physics applied math economics or related quantitative fields
Salary Insight
$221 - $264k per year
