Senior Allocation Analyst - Inventory & Retail Analytics
Overview
You will own allocation strategy for assigned categories across DSW's 675+ stores and digital channels, directly impacting inventory performance and customer satisfaction. You will blend data, strategy, and partnership to optimize stock levels, using Excel and retail allocation systems to drive decisions. Collaborating with Merchandising, Planning, and Store Planning teams, you will align inventory with demand and business goals. This role stands out for its mentorship component, as you'll coach Allocators and lead process improvements that enhance team scalability.

- 1Drive allocation strategies for assigned categories, aligning inventory with assortment, store capacity, and demand.
- 2Analyze store and item-level performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, then implement actions to boost in-stock and productivity.
- 3Monitor inventory flow and adjust to shifting business needs.
- 4Partner with Merchandising, Planning, and Store Planning to align allocation with broader initiatives.
- 5Build and maintain reporting tools in Excel to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- 6Lead initiatives to improve allocation processes, automation, and system functionality.
- 7Mentor Allocators, coaching on best practices and fostering knowledge-sharing.
- 8Present clear recommendations to cross-functional partners and leadership.
Requirements7
- 13+ years in allocation, planning, analytics, or retail inventory management.
- 2Advanced Excel skills and retail math proficiency.
- 3Strong business acumen with understanding of product lifecycle, assortment strategy, and inventory flow.
- 4Proven problem-solving in dynamic environments, managing multiple priorities with accuracy.
- 5Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- 6Experience with Blue Yonder/JDA, Oracle, or similar allocation systems preferred.
- 7Ability to collaborate across teams to achieve shared goals.
