Senior Academic Human Resources Analyst UCLA
Overview
The Senior Academic Human Resources Analyst will lead recruitment and retention strategies for non-ladder faculty at the Law School. This role supports aggressive expansion of academic programs through short-course offerings and adds 12 new faculty positions over three years. Responsibilities include developing recruitment frameworks aligned with long-term institutional goals.
What You'll Do12
- 1Design and execute recruitment strategies for non-ladder faculty aligned with program growth objectives
- 2Develop retention initiatives to support faculty development and satisfaction
- 3Implement onboarding processes for new hires with frequent campus presence requirements
- 4Manage day-to-day HR functions for academic personnel including policy interpretation
- 5Analyze data to optimize talent acquisition and workforce planning
- 6Collaborate with department leadership to align staffing with academic program demands
- 7Maintain compliance with university policies and legal requirements for academic personnel
- 8Coordinate with internal systems teams to ensure accurate data management and reporting
- 9Provide clear communication of policies and procedures to faculty and staff
- 10Lead efforts to improve efficiency through systematic organization of resources
- 11Draft professional documentation and analytical reports supporting HR decisions
- 12Foster collaborative relationships across academic departments and administrative units
Requirements10
- 15+ years professional experience in higher education HR roles
- 2Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite including Outlook Excel PowerPoint Word
- 3Experience with DAT system for academic personnel management
- 4Familiarity with UC/UCLA proprietary systems such as CDW UCPath TRS and Tracker I‑9
- 5Strong understanding of academic personnel policies and procedures
- 6Knowledge of academic salary structures and budgeting processes
- 7Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- 8Demonstrated organizational skills for managing complex workloads
- 9Experience interacting with diverse stakeholders including faculty administrators and legal professionals
- 10Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

$81 - $168k per year
