Security Software Engineer, Windows & C++
Overview
Own the security posture of HP's software products, driving integrity and resilience from design to deployment. You'll design, code, and test C++ and C# features for Windows desktop applications, collaborating with a cross-functional R&D team. This role focuses on identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities using secure coding practices and Agile methodologies. You'll impact multiple teams and may lead technical direction, with a clear path to influence product security at scale.
What You'll Do6
- 1Design and build security solutions for Windows desktop apps using C++, C#, .NET and XAML
- 2Lead unit testing and code reviews to ensure Agile quality standards across the Azure DevOps pipeline
- 3Debug and resolve complex software issues with multi-threading and inter-process communication
- 4Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices in .NET Core services
- 5Drive release readiness by maintaining features and fixing defects in production systems
- 6Contribute to sprint planning and execution in a Scrum environment, owning deliverables from start to finish
Requirements8
- 14-7 years in software development with C++ or C# and Windows API
- 23-5 years experience with .NET Core and WPF for desktop applications
- 3Proficiency in Agile tools and practices, including Azure DevOps
- 4Understanding of Windows security internals: Registry, certificates, file permissions, and user security
- 5Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for multi-threaded applications
- 6Familiarity with ReactJS, Python, Django, Go, Rust, or Xamarin is a plus
- 7Knowledge of cryptography and authentication technologies preferred
- 8Excellent written and verbal communication for team collaboration
