Security and Safety Officer San Diego
Overview
Patrol all Family Health Centers of San Diego sites to ensure safety and security standards are met. Conduct comprehensive patrols including exterior and interior checks with leadership. Detect security issues via surveillance and address them promptly. De‑escalate patient aggression using proven techniques. Coordinate emergency responses and manage traffic control at major events. Direct staff and visitors during emergencies and maintain security software systems. Respond to after‑hour calls and oversee vehicle requirements. This role differs by focusing on comprehensive safety oversight across diverse clinical locations.
What You'll Do11
- 1Lead patrols at every FHCSD location verifying compliance with safety protocols
- 2Utilize surveillance cameras and smart devices to identify potential threats
- 3Apply de‑escalation methods to manage aggressive patient behavior
- 4Coordinate with emergency teams to clear paths for responders
- 5Oversee traffic management for events and ensure attendee safety
- 6Direct staff and visitors during crises such as fires or bomb threats
- 7Maintain and test all security equipment on a monthly schedule
- 8Assist with organizational drills and emergency preparedness exercises
- 9Enforce access control and alarm systems across multiple sites
- 10Support administrative tasks including employee site assignments
- 11Drive strategic decisions that enhance overall facility security
Requirements11
- 1Minimum 5+ years of security patrol experience
- 2Certification as CPC Card or BCBA recognized
- 3Experience with AWS Certified solutions
- 4Proficiency in Kubernetes for system management
- 5Valid California driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle
- 6Ability to pass CPR and First Aid in‑person certification
- 7Knowledge of security software platforms and basic computer literacy
- 8Bilingual English Spanish proficiency preferred
- 9Strong interpersonal skills for teamwork and customer interaction
- 10Demonstrated judgment and quick decision‑making in high‑pressure situations
