SAP Transportation Management Lead
Overview
You will own the SAP TM solution for a global logistics operation, driving design, configuration, and deployment across SAP S/4HANA and ECC environments. Lead a cross-functional team of developers and functional analysts, collaborating with business stakeholders to optimize freight order management, planning, and execution. This contract role offers the chance to shape a TM roadmap and mentor junior consultants in a high-stakes supply chain setting.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead the design and implementation of SAP TM for freight order management and planning, delivering a working solution in the first 90 days.
- 2Configure SAP TM modules including planning, execution, and settlement, integrating with ECC and S/4HANA logistics.
- 3Own the integration of SAP TM with SAP EWM and SAP GTS, ensuring seamless data flow for international shipments.
- 4Define and enforce best practices for SAP TM data models and master data governance across the enterprise.
- 5Drive the rollout of SAP TM to multiple business units, managing cutover activities and hypercare support.
- 6Conduct end-user training and create documentation for SAP TM processes, enabling self-sufficiency for the operations team.
- 7Collaborate with the project manager to define scope, timelines, and milestones, reporting progress weekly.
- 8Debug and resolve complex issues in SAP TM workflows, working with ABAP developers to implement fixes.
Requirements8
- 17+ years of experience in SAP TM implementation, with at least 3 full lifecycle projects.
- 2Deep knowledge of SAP TM planning, freight costing, and settlement, including TM integration with SAP ECC and S/4HANA.
- 3Proficiency in SAP TM configuration (master data, profiles, and strategies) and TM-specific ABAP debugging.
- 42+ years of experience in SAP EWM integration, including warehouse order and delivery processing.
- 5Strong understanding of SAP GTS for compliance and customs processes.
- 6Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 7SAP Certified in TM or Supply Chain Management preferred.
- 8Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead workshops and present to executive stakeholders.
