Sales Associate, Footwear Retail
Overview
You will own the customer experience at Rack Room Shoes, delivering service that drives sales and loyalty. You will work within a store team of associates and management, supporting daily operations from sales floor to stockroom. This role sharpens your retail skills with hands-on training in POS systems, visual merchandising, and loss prevention. You will directly impact store performance through transactional accuracy and merchandise presentation.
What You'll Do9
- 1Greet each customer and assess their needs, recommending footwear from our brand assortment to match comfort and style.
- 2Process sales transactions accurately through the POS terminal, including cash, credit, and mobile payments.
- 3Promote the Rack Room Rewards program and current promotions to increase customer engagement and repeat business.
- 4Maintain merchandise presentation by restocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring proper shoe pairing.
- 5Keep the store clean and organized, including fitting rooms, counters, and stock areas.
- 6Participate in physical inventory counts and assist with receiving and placing new shipments on the sales floor.
- 7Support loss prevention efforts by monitoring customer and staff activity and reporting concerns to management.
- 8Contribute to team sales goals by collaborating with associates on floor coverage and customer service.
- 9Develop product knowledge through training on new arrivals, features, and fitting techniques.
Requirements6
- 11+ year experience in retail sales, preferably specialty retail or footwear.
- 2Basic math skills for handling cash and making change accurately.
- 3Strong verbal communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- 4Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
- 5Basic visual merchandising skills and understanding of store presentation standards.
- 6Reliable transportation to work scheduled shifts, including weekends and evenings.
