Research Analyst, Legal & Business Research
Overview
Own research requests for legal and business topics at a national firm. Scale: support attorneys and business professionals with independent research, AI-assisted tools, and timely analyses. You will join a collaborative team under the Director of Research & Knowledge Management and contribute to knowledge sharing and process improvements. This role blends traditional research methods with AI-enabled workflows to accelerate insights.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and deliver clear, concise research summaries for requestors
- 2Design prompts for AI tools and validate outputs against authoritative sources
- 3Advise stakeholders on research resource selection and effective usage
- 4Train users and provide point-of-need guidance on research resources
- 5Record requests and billable time, and contribute to department communications and knowledge sharing
- 6Participate in evaluating new research resources and share potential value
- 7Contribute to team meetings and knowledge sharing to improve processes
- 8Identify and implement process improvements related to research responsibilities
- 9Maintain up-to-date knowledge of available research tools and concepts
- 10Engage in professional development and maintain confidentiality of firm matters
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor’s degree and MLS and/or JD
- 24+ years of law firm research services experience
- 3Proficiency with major legal, business, and financial research platforms including Westlaw Precision, Lexis+, Bloomberg Law, Practical Guidance, Practical Law, VitalLaw, CourtLink, D&B Hoovers, S&P Capital IQ
- 4Demonstrated ability to use AI-enabled tools in legal or business research with prompt development and output validation
- 5Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing priorities
Salary Insight
$89 - $112k per year
