What You'll Do8
- 1Perform dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing, ensuring thorough plaque and tartar removal for optimal oral health.
- 2Take and process dental radiographs using digital systems, ensuring diagnostic quality and patient comfort.
- 3Conduct oral cancer screenings during each appointment, documenting findings in Dentrix.
- 4Educate patients on personalized oral hygiene routines, including brushing, flossing, and product recommendations.
- 5Administer local anesthesia as permitted by DC regulations, ensuring pain-free treatment.
- 6Assist the dentist during procedures, anticipating needs and passing instruments for smooth workflow.
- 7Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in Dentrix, recording treatment and medical history.
- 8Follow strict infection control protocols, including sterilization of instruments and surfaces, to ensure a safe environment.
Requirements8
- 1Active Dental Hygienist License in the District of Columbia (required).
- 21+ year clinical experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- 3Proficiency with Dentrix dental software and digital x-ray systems.
- 4Strong understanding of dental coding (e.g., CDT codes) for billing and documentation.
- 5Excellent communication skills to educate and reassure patients.
- 6Detail-oriented with accurate record-keeping and charting abilities.
- 7Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- 8Familiarity with modern dental instruments and equipment.
