Radiology Student Technologist, Weekend Imaging
Overview
Radiology Student Technologist performs diagnostic imaging on adult, pediatric, geriatric, and trauma patients using PACS and RIS. Work every third weekend, Saturday and Sunday, with extra shifts available. Join a dedicated team at Jefferson Health in Center City Philadelphia, honing skills in a real clinical environment. What You'll Do8
- 1Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters for X-ray, CT, MRI, or Ultrasound imaging.
- 2Assist physicians during imaging procedures, preparing contrast media and medications within scope.
- 3Document procedures for regulatory compliance, billing, and image distribution using RIS and PACS.
- 4Implement radiation protection and safety standards for every exam.
- 5Expedite patient flow by managing patient comfort, clinical info, and department supplies.
- 6Maintain adequate inventory and cleanliness of imaging suites.
- 7Support senior technologists in fluoroscopy and interventional procedures.
- 8Operate portable X-ray equipment at bedside for inpatient exams.
Requirements7
- 1High school diploma or GED.
- 2Enrolled in good standing in a radiologic science program (Diagnostic Radiology, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, or Nuclear Medicine).
- 36+ months clinical experience as a radiology student.
- 4Passed all relevant exam competencies per program guidelines and ARRT or ARDMS eligibility.
- 5Current BLS certification from AHA.
- 6Working knowledge of hospital RIS and PACS systems.
- 7Ability to lift and carry 40-50 lbs and stand/walk frequently (up to 8-10 miles per shift).
