Quality Engineer (QMS) - Aalberts Indianapolis
Overview
You will own the Quality Management System (QMS) at a manufacturing plant producing pressure vessels and fluid control components. You will partner with the Quality Manager to set objectives, KPIs, and governance, and drive compliance to ASME Section VIII and customer specs. The role spans supplier quality, internal audits, CAPA, and 8D problem-solving across multiple Aalberts facilities. This position offers direct exposure to process improvement and cross-functional collaboration in a certified environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Develop and maintain the QMS documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and quality manuals, ensuring version control and accessibility.
- 2Partner with the Quality Manager to establish quality objectives and KPIs, and track performance to drive improvements.
- 3Lead cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing issues using root cause analysis and 8D problem-solving for quality concerns.
- 4Support new product introductions by embedding quality standards and inspection criteria from design to launch.
- 5Coordinate quality standardization across multiple Aalberts facilities through process audits and collaboration, with periodic travel.
- 6Ensure compliance with ASME Section VIII and other regulatory specifications by managing internal audit programs and documentation.
- 7Manage supplier quality processes including qualification, audits, performance monitoring, and corrective action follow-up.
- 8Investigate nonconforming materials and drive the RMA process, ensuring timely containment and corrective actions.
- 9Analyze quality data trends to identify improvement opportunities and implement preventive measures.
- 10Champion Lean initiatives and continuous improvement projects across the plant.
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Quality Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- 23-5 years in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
- 3Experience developing and implementing QMS in line with standards like ISO 9001.
- 4Hands-on experience with supplier quality, internal audits, and corrective action processes.
- 5Familiarity with CAPA, root cause analysis, and 8D problem-solving methodologies.
- 6Working knowledge of ASME Pressure Vessel Code and ASTM material specifications preferred.
- 7Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management software.
- 8ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification preferred.
- 9Ability to travel periodically to company facilities and supplier sites.
