What You'll Do9

  • 1Verify the preparation, quality, and labeling of compound medications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with FDA regulations.
  • 2Review and interpret physician orders, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities and documenting interventions.
  • 3Dispense medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, using pharmacy software to track orders.
  • 4Provide pharmacological information to healthcare professionals and counsel patients on drug therapies.
  • 5Train pharmacy staff and students on drug knowledge and safety protocols, supporting clinical programs.
  • 6Maintain compliance with state and federal drug laws, including DEA record-keeping for controlled substances.
  • 7Remove outdated or damaged drugs from inventory and supervise support personnel workflow.
  • 8Stay current with legislation and professional publications, advising management on needed policy changes.
  • 9Maintain a clean and safe environment per OSHA standards.

Requirements9

  • 1Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy with a PharmD or BS degree.
  • 2Active license in good standing with the CA Board of Pharmacy.
  • 31-3 years experience in compounding pharmacy, preferred but not required.
  • 4Proficiency with pharmacy software and knowledge of FDA health regulations.
  • 5Pass drug screen, background check, and pre-employment verification.
  • 6Ability to read, understand, and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • 7Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and deadline management.
  • 8Leadership capability, including team accountability and budget management.
  • 9Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
