Production Technician, Manufacturing & Equipment Operation
Overview
You will operate, troubleshoot, and adjust board line equipment to produce drywall at a high-volume manufacturing facility. You will join a shift team of production technicians and report to the shift leader, working alongside the maintenance department to keep machines running. This role demands mechanical aptitude and a safety-first mindset, with 3+ years of manufacturing experience preferred. You will own equipment uptime during time-sensitive outages and maintain quality standards through routine testing.
What You'll Do9
- 1Operate and troubleshoot board line equipment to ensure continuous drywall production, responding to alarms and process variations within first 90 days.
- 2Perform line changeovers and setups for product size changes, minimizing downtime and waste.
- 3Identify and report safety hazards and quality deficiencies to management, following safety policies and quality procedures.
- 4Conduct equipment inspections to verify proper operation and safety, documenting issues in CMMS.
- 5Coordinate with shift leader and maintenance team on repair needs, supporting timely fixes to production equipment.
- 6Operate a forklift to move materials and finished goods, adhering to safety protocols.
- 7Run quality tests and enter data into quality software to track product specs and process control.
- 8Lift materials up to 50 pounds routinely and 65 pounds occasionally, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- 9Complete production logs and shift handoffs, ensuring clear communication of issues and actions taken.
Requirements9
- 13+ years in a production manufacturing environment preferred, but not required for entry.
- 2Safety-oriented mindset with commitment to following OSHA and plant safety rules.
- 3Mechanical inclination to troubleshoot conveyors, pumps, and hydraulics.
- 4Problem-solving skills to make quick decisions during equipment failures.
- 5Team player who communicates clearly with co-workers and management.
- 6Organized with attention to detail, able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- 7Willingness to work 8.5 hours per day, 7 days a week, on rotating shifts.
- 8Basic computer skills for data entry into quality tracking systems.
- 9Ability to pass online assessment, background check, and physical exam.
