Production Artist, Packaging & Print
Overview
You will own print-ready file production for global consumer packaged goods brands, refining artwork for packaging, retail displays, and influencer kits. Working onsite in Hainesport, NJ, you join a team of creative professionals serving food, snack, and confectionery clients. You will collaborate with designers, troubleshoot with printers, and ensure every file meets strict quality standards. Adobe Creative Suite and print color expertise are central to this role, which balances technical precision with creative judgment to deliver flawless final assets.
What You'll Do7
- 1Build print-ready files for offset, digital, gravure, and flexo processes, applying Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign to perfect color, typography, and layout.
- 2Retouch images and execute clipping paths, adjusting color balance, size, and resolution to meet packaging specifications.
- 3Manage multiple production projects simultaneously, organizing files, packaging with correct annotations, and preflighting before release.
- 4Collaborate with designers to refine artwork, ensuring brand consistency and compliance with FDA food labeling guidelines when applicable.
- 5Troubleshoot production issues with designers and printers, proposing solutions that maintain the creative vision and technical integrity.
- 6Track project timelines, communicating progress and adjusting workflows to meet deadlines without compromising quality.
- 7Archive completed projects systematically, maintaining a clean library for future reference and reuse.
Requirements7
- 13+ years production artist experience in a print-focused environment, packaging or agency setting preferred.
- 2Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat.
- 3Working knowledge of CMYK and RGB color specs, proofing processes, and print production.
- 4Strong typography skills, with attention to size, hierarchy, kerning, and leading.
- 5Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced setting, prioritizing tasks and adapting to shifting deadlines.
- 6Experience with FDA food labeling guidelines is a plus, as is packaging or point-of-sale display work.
- 7Excellent organizational and detail-oriented approach, delivering clean files that meet agency standards.
