Physical Therapist Assistant, Home Care in Miami
Overview
You will own the daily therapy delivery for home care patients in Miami, executing treatment plans set by Physical Therapists to restore movement and mobility. You will join a PTA-led team that values clinical judgment and a personal touch with each patient. You will set your own schedule across a mix of geriatric, orthopedic, and post-surgical cases. What You'll Do7
- 1Implement treatment protocols from Physical Therapists for home care patients, focusing on geriatric and orthopedic conditions.
- 2Provide hands-on therapy to help patients regain movement and manage pain, using techniques like passive range of motion and therapeutic exercise.
- 3Track and document each patient's progress in home health charts after every session.
- 4Educate patients and families on at-home exercise programs and care routines to extend recovery.
- 5Coordinate with Physical Therapists and nurses to adapt plans based on real-world home conditions.
- 6Adjust treatment delivery to each patient's environment, whether in a private residence or assisted living facility.
- 7Respond to safety concerns during sessions and report any issues to the supervising Physical Therapist.
Requirements7
- 1Associate's degree from an accredited PTA program and active state licensure in Florida.
- 21+ year of hands-on patient care experience, specifically with geriatric and orthopedic populations.
- 3Proven ability to carry out inpatient therapy procedures in a home setting.
- 4Familiarity with home health regulations and documentation standards.
- 5Skilled in using gait belts, therabands, and other PTA equipment.
- 6Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for home visits.
- 7CPR certification required before start.
